About

I'm Dr. Vijay Pande, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at VZVC. My career has been defined by the intersection of biology, physics, and computer science—first as a professor at Stanford where I led the Biophysics program and founded Folding@home, and later as a General Partner at a16z where I built the Bio+Health practice. I am deeply passionate about the idea that biology is becoming an engineering discipline. My focus is on supporting founders who are 'bending the curve' of human health by building AI-native architectures from the ground up. Whether it's through preventive medicine, mental health innovation, or distributed computing, I'm dedicated to using technology and capital to solve humanity's most pressing problems. I’m always looking to connect with cross-disciplinary talent and visionary founders who are ready to build the next era of healthcare.
